Fiberglass Side Shell
Charles Eames, Ray Eames
When the chairs were introduced the first three colors were Parchment, Greige (seen here), and Elephant Hide Gray—neutral colors that would work in many environments. When these, the first mass-produced plastic chairs, proved to be popular with consumers, they added Sea Foam Green, Red, and Yellow options. Eventually, the variety of colors expanded to more than twenty, each one approved by Ray and Charles.
