DKR-1
Charles Eames, Ray Eames
1953
For the first few years of production, the upholstered wire chairs had two options: the “Postman’s Bag Tan Leather” or a lovely black/brown and white crosscheck upholstery, both selections curated by Ray and Charles. DKR-1 stands for Dining (height) K-wire (chair) Rod (base) 1 (1-piece upholstered pad).
A paper manufacturer’s label “Herman Miller Furniture Company Zeeland, Michigan” is on the underside of the shell.
